The Heart Behind MiMi's
If you've ever wondered why this little business means so much to me, I'd like to share my story.
Life can change in an instant.
In 2016, our family was forever changed when we lost my brother while he was serving in the military. The pain of losing him was something none of us could have prepared for.
Then in 2019, I lost my best friend.
Just when I thought life couldn't get any harder, 2020 brought unimaginable heartbreak. We lost my dad, my other brother, and my grandma. It felt like our family was trying to survive one wave of grief after another.
Then came 2025.
My mom's dementia began progressing quickly, and I knew I couldn't leave her alone. I made one of the hardest decisions of my life—I left the hospital where I worked to find a remote job so I could care for her every day. By the grace of God, I was blessed with an incredible work-from-home job that allows me to do just that.
Before my dad passed away, I made him one promise.
I promised him that I would always take care of Mom. That she would never have to worry again.
Every single day, I wake up determined to keep that promise.
I started this business because I wanted to give my mom something she could still enjoy and be a part of. Dementia can take away so much, but I wanted her to feel included, needed, and involved in everyday life. Seeing her smile, help me, and enjoy these moments together is something I'll treasure forever.
The reality, though, is that caregiving is hard. Working a full-time remote job while caring for my mom and trying to grow this business is exhausting. Financially, it's a constant struggle. There are days when I wonder how I'll make everything work—but then someone places an order, shares my page, or leaves a kind comment, and I'm reminded that we're not walking this journey alone.
